Halliburton unit gets NIH deals

Halliburton KBR's Government Operations division, formerly known as Brown & Root Services, has been awarded two contracts with the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Md., totaling $226 million.
Halliburton KBR, the engineering and construction segment of Dallas-based Halliburton Co. (NYSE: HAL), signed a one-year task work contract with the NIH that includes four one-year options. The contract is worth up to $200 million, making it one of the largest single-award contracts of its type in existence, Halliburton said.
The work includes construction, maintenance and renovation of laboratories, research facilities, patient-care facilities and administrative spaces.
Halliburton KBR has been performing task order work for NIH since 1993 under two previous contracts.
Halliburton KBR was also awarded a one-year, $26 million contract for security upgrades and modifications at the main NIH campus in Bethesda.
In a separate announcement, Halliburton KBR also was awarded a task order contract by the U.S. Army. The Logistics Civil Augmentation Program III contract has a one-year base period and nine one-year options. Terms weren't disclosed.
In addtion, Halliburton said its Landmark Graphics Corp. unit has been awarded a four-year exploration and production data management contract by the Brazilian Geological Service.
Landmark will provide technology, support and consulting services in organizing, archiving and managing all Brazilian petroleum industry seismic and well exploration and production data on behalf of the National Petroleum Agency in Rio de Janeiro. Financial terms weren't provided.
